Closed-Circuit Blasting Machines
These units feature a unique closed-circuit system, i.e. immediately after the blast media has been thrown onto the workpiece it is recovered and recycled. This ensures a consistent quality of the abrasive and minimises consumption.

Closed-circuit machines have been designed for heavy-duty industrial applications.
They are available with air ejector or vacuum pump (side-channel exhauster) to generate the recovery air flow.
Problast closed-circuit systems are suitable for cylindrical workpieces and flat surfaces. A typical application is the surface treatment of rollers.
But there are numerous other workpieces and applications for which the closed-circuit system represents an ideal solution, for instance the cleaning of welds. This makes pickling as well as grinding and polishing of the surfaces superfluous.
Pressure-fed or suction-fed?
Close-circuit blasting machines are suitable for all kinds of blast media and are available in suction-fed and pressure-fed versions:
- In the pressure-fed version blast media stored in the pressure vessel is metered into the air stream and directed at high velocity (up to supersonic velocity) at the workpiece through a specially designed nozzle
- In the suction-fed version the blast media is drawn to the nozzle by a venturi generated within a special gun assembly.

Manual or automated handling?
According to type and duration of the blasting process the blast gun is either mounted in a special fixture and traversed along the workpiece or vice versa.

Flexible use as Power Pack
The blast generator and reclaimer of the closed-circuit machine can also be used as Power Pack in combination with existing blast cabinets and blastrooms.
Moreover, they form the basis of many of our custom-made solutions.
