Wheelset Blast Machines

Blasting systems for wheelsets and wheelset components

Wheelsets, wheelset shafts and wheel components are roughened before a coating is applied or paint-stripped as part of the crack detection process. Depending on the workpiece type, we offer the following solutions:

Blasting systems for complete wheelsets
Blasting systems for wheelset shafts
Blasting systems for wheel components

Wheelset shaft paint stripping in a manual blast cabinet

I. Blasting systems for complete wheelsets

Complete wheelsets are blasted either in fully automated blasting systems or manually in walk-in blastrooms.

Blasting of wheelsets in walk-in blastrooms

For comparatively small quantities, wheelsets can also be blasted manually in walk-in blastrooms.

Partial reworking of wheelsets

Problast® closed-circuit machines are ideal for the partial reworking of wheelsets.

II. Blasting systems for wheelset shafts

For paint stripping of wheelset shafts, blast cabinets are used. These allow manual or automated processing of the shafts in a dust and soundproof enclosure, with additional explosion protection when using plastic blast media.

Surface preparation with Problast® recovery blast gun

III. Blasting systems for wheel components
(wheel bodies, wheel tires, wheel rings, wheel hubs)

Rotationally symmetrical wheel components can be blasted on a turntable. In automated solutions, the workpieces can be stacked and blasted externally and internally by movable nozzles.

Which type of blast media?

Our blasting systems are suitable for all blast media that can be reused.
